Workshop: Using Brushstrokes to Define Shapes

Below is the homework for your Using Brushstrokes to Define Shapes workshop. It has four sections, each from one of the workshop’s four lessons. In addition to a short quiz, there are seven steps for you to complete. Please follow the steps in sequence, and everything should proceed smoothly. You will receive a Certificate of Achievement when you complete all the exercises.

○ At the bottom of each prompt, you will see the words Notes. To ask Dianne or the team a question, use this and NOT the comments section. Be sure to follow the instructions to ensure Dianne receives your question.

Be sure to click Mark Complete each time you finish a step/prompt. This is necessary for the progress bar to advance and for you to receive your certificate once you’ve completed all the work.

For your homework, you will need your painting gear and a painting surface appropriate to your medium.

Your painting surface should be no larger than 12” x 16”. Otherwise, there will be too much space to manage to keep your attention on working on the lesson’s concept. Beyond this, use the paints and brushes you are most comfortable working with. Dianne does not intend to change your choice to hers, but to focus on learning one of the best ways to apply the course’s concept.
