Contrasting and Gradating Textures

Following is your Contrasting & Gradating Textures course. It has four sections, each from one of the course’s four lessons. Within these, there are six steps for you to complete. Please follow the sequence as the steps appear, and everything should go well.

This is where the real fun begins. Let’s get to work!

You will need your painting gear and a painting surface appropriate to your medium for your homework.

Your painting surface should be no larger than 12” x 16”. Otherwise, there will be too much space to manage to keep your attention on working on the lesson’s concept. Beyond this, use the paints and brushes you are most comfortable working with. Dianne intends not to change your choice to hers but to focus on learning one of the best ways to use contrasting and gradating textures.

Oil and acrylic painters, because this is an exercise, no stretched canvas, please!
